Engaging Language Learners with Nearpod: My Approach to Teaching

Technology has completely changed the way I teach languages, making lessons more interactive and engaging. One tool I’ve found incredibly useful is Nearpod —an interactive platform that brings lessons to life with multimedia, quizzes, and real-time feedback. So, how do I use Nearpod in my language classes? Let me share my experience. 1. Enhancing Listening Skills I love using Nearpod to integrate audio clips, videos, and interactive transcripts into my lessons. For example, I upload short dialogues and follow them with comprehension questions. The ‘Draw It’ tool is perfect for dictation exercises—I play an audio clip, and students write down what they hear, which reinforces both listening and spelling skills. 2. Boosting Speaking Confidence The ‘Collaborate Board’ and ‘Open-Ended Questions’ features give my students a safe space to express their thoughts.
